Jack London in the Southern Seas

Numerous objects and documents are on display, some exhibited to the public for the very first time, giving us the chance to relive one of the writer’s boldest gambles: his journey in the Southern seas between 1907 and 1909. The exhibition focusses on the archipelagos visited by the author: Hawaii, the Marquesas islands, Tahiti, Fiji, Samoa, Vanuatu, the Salomon islands etc. By getting us to experience the excitement of the seafaring adventure afresh, and his magical  encounters, this exhibition offers an incredible  insight into the cultural diversity of the people of  the Pacific.Exhibition coproduced by the Museumof African, Oceanian and Amerindian Arts of Marseille and La Compagnie des Indes.
